About the Role and You
Contract type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Dependent on experience
Start date: Sep 2025 or Jan 2026
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Teach Physical Education, Games and GCSE Physical Education and Sport and Exercise Science (Level 3 BTEC) to pupils throughout the school to key stage 3, 4 and 5
- Encourage pupils’ learning and engender an enthusiasm for Sport and Physical Education
- Set and mark classwork, homework, in-year assessments, end-of-year examinations, entrance examinations and scholarship assessments
- Fostering a love for sports, fitness and overall well-being.
- Organise and participate in educational visits
- Attend some occasions such as concerts, play, matches and other parent/staff social events as required
- Creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where every student feels valued and encouraged to participate.
- Serving as a positive role model, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork and resilience.
We are looking for someone who has :
- Degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related subject (Essential).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching GCSE and/or A-Level/BTEC Sport.
- High-level coaching experience (ideally with relevant coaching qualifications).
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with BTEC Sport Level 2/3 assessment criteria, First Aid and Safeguarding training is an advantage
- Willingness to contribute to other areas of school sport.
- The ability to teach other subjects.
