STEM Awards & Achievements

A team of Year 7 & 8 students represented Sackville at the county finals of a STEM challenge organised by BAE Systems. Devan and Redmond in Year 7 and Oliver in Year 8 had won the Geodesic Dome challenge in school and were now tasked with producing the longest bridge that could support a 2Kg mass. They beat off the competition from other schools by listening to the advice from the expert and then acting upon it to take first place.

We appreciate the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) in the ever changing world of work.  We therefore expose our young people to a variety of learning opportunities to prepare them for potential careers. Winning this competition proves that this approach works!
