Before Sackville

I have been teaching foreign languages all my adult life.  Upon graduating with a BA Hons degree in French with Italian I embarked upon a PGCE with a Masters in French as a Foreign Language which took me to the University of Strasbourg. I then began teaching French in London in 1996 and by the time I took break from mainstream education in 2002 to raise a family I was Head of French in a North London comprehensive.  Four babies later, in 2005, I decided to set up my own mobile teaching business and for the last seven years I have been teaching French to adults and children of all ages and English to foreign language students. Why I enjoy my subject

I love France and all things French.

Why I enjoy Sackville?

Sackville students make teaching French very rewarding and the view from my classroom is amazing.

My favourite Lesson?

My favourite lesson is any one which has the children singing and moving to one of my French songs, especially the number rap or the army alphabet, or when the students feel confident enough to take over the lesson delivery themselves.

Passions

My family, France and sport are my biggest passions.  I enjoy rugby a lot having played it at university level for three years, and for a French team for one year.  I currently play netball in a ladies league once a week.  Every opportunity I have I go to France with my family which helps keep my French current and my supply of “bonbons” well stocked!
