Mrs Pauline Hardwick
Before Sackville
After having children along with most women at that time I decided not to return to my professional career, but to stay at home and look after my children. Once they started school I volunteered at their school both in the classroom and outside it, acting as treasurer. As time went by I was offered a job in a large secondary school within the Learning Support Department, which again fitted in around my family. This was all some twenty years ago, I went on to work at a further education college before eventually coming to Sackville some 6 years ago.
Why I enjoy my subject
Within the Learning Support Department I have a particular interest in ASD students, as I feel they are often misunderstood. Over the years I have attended many courses on the various aspects of ASD and behavioural management.
Why I enjoy Sackville?
Sackville offers so much for all levels of abilities. It has a unique environment both emotionally and academically for students to thrive in.
My favourite Lesson?
I enjoy my one to one sessions with the pupils, it gives me the chance to build up a trust with the individual that is not always possible in the classroom.
Passions
Now that our children have left home, I have more time to walk the paths, hills and mountains of this country. I also enjoy discovering the many hidden treasures that London has to offer.
For some years I have been a volunteer for a local pastoral team of which I am an active member and Secretary.
