Mrs Liz McClusky
Before Sackville
My background is in the Financial Sector, and the Finance Department of a major oil company. I also worked in Europe for a time. After my children started school, I volunteered to help, this led to being offered work in Learning Support. After a few years moved into secondary schools, and joined Sackville ten years ago.
Why I enjoy my subject
I enjoy working with students in class and in 1:1 sessions out of the classroom. It is very interesting watching students who arrive as unsure, nervous 11 year olds, who, it seems, in a very short space of time, turn into confident young adults.
Why I enjoy Sackville
I value the caring aspect of the school. Students, staff and everyone involved in making the place tick, really matter. Over the years there have been many success stories. Seeing students reach their goals, students who have had problems, overcome them. It is a great pleasure to be part of this.
Other Roles
I am also involved with the arrangements for internal and external exams, for students who have been granted exam concessions. Making sure students have smooth arrangements in order to succeed at a stressful time in their lives, is very important to me.
Passions
Spending time with my family, pet and friends, going to the theatre and concerts are my main interests out of school. I’m a keen sports spectator.
