Sackville School

Mrs Cathy Morrison

Before Sackville

I spent 15 years working in Human Resources, much of that time involved with the recruitment of a wide range of professions-from Computer Analysts to Fire Fighters. Following a career break to raise my family I returned to work initially in a public library, then in the library of a large state school before joining Sackville in 2002.

Why I enjoy my subject

My dual roles of Librarian and Careers Advisor give me an extremely varied working day whether it be organising Book Week or the Careers Fair, work experience or reading initiatives- never a dull moment!

Why I enjoy Sackville?

In a small school you get to know the students really well which makes my job all the more rewarding.

Other roles

I work closely with the Sixth Form on their future plans, specifically on university applications.  Each year it gives me great satisfaction when they achieve their ambitions and set off on the next stage in their lives.

Passions

As you might expect, I really love reading and am never without a book on the go.  I enjoy quizzes, music and travelling, particularly to cities as I am interested in architecture and visiting art galleries.  Family commitments and advancing years prevent much in the way of physical exercise but I have been known to Salsa and Zumba on occasion.
