Lent Term 2012 workset
Mr Tim Richardson-Perks
Hello. Apart from teaching mathematics I run and pray (two useful skills for dealing with less than pleased parents!). I run marathons and done so for the last thirty years completing my first marathon at the tender age of 21 and I’ve now done a total of 64 marathons including New York to celebrate my 50th Birthday and 8 or 9 times around London. Yes I enjoy running and I’ve recently been elected to President (I also answer to the less glamorous but probably more important title of Chairman!) of my Running Club – Canterbury Harriers AC. I train as often as possible aiming to cover a total of 40 miles each week but ... My long term running Goal is to be invited to become a member of the 100 Marathon Club. I hope to achieve this by my 65th birthday.
On the prayer front I am a Christian and have been for 33 years all of my adult life (comments from my partner that I’ve still to grow up should be ignored at this point!). Moving around I have been a member of a number of churches but as they say God is everywhere so it doesn’t matter. I try to put my faith into all I do but like most of us I mess up occasionally (oh alright very regularly!).
Other than teaching I made a major decision in July 2011 to work for myself, an ambition I’ve had since my mid twenties (I don’t like taking orders and think I know best!). So now I’m a self-employed marketing consultant with contracts in Solar PV, Merchant Services (Chip & Pin machines) and telecoms/utilities.
For those of you old enough the above sounds a bit like Miss World but I do look daft in a bikini and no there are no photos! Well at least none that I know of.
