HOMEWORK

Mr Mike Dillon

Before Sackville

My first career was in the Royal Air Force as a Pilot. At that time the world was wide open to the armed Services and I found myself flying all over the world and being posted to Singapore for three years. I flew whilst in the UK and at times in Singapore fast jets (lightnings) and then went to Transport and finally to Kinloss in Scotland to fly Nimrods (Search and Rescue) and finally to RAF Biggin Hill to assist with aircrew selection. My second career after leaving The RAF was into Marketing with companies such as Colgate Palmolive, Sara Lee and William Grants. In that time I gained my qualifications in Marketing and an MBA. I decided I wished to give something back to society and after gaining a degree in Politics and Economics I went into Teaching. From my time in education I was asked to move further into ICT and I took various qualifications in that area. Most of my schools have been very challenging although I have been at two good Grammar Schools.

Why I enjoy my subject

Computers and its technology is ever changing, it holds the future to the world and to be able to teach this to students and see then evolve is pure pleasure.

Why I enjoy Sackville

Sackville is unique, in that in coming to Sackville I have become part of a family. The staff and students are the best I have encountered and every day is a pure enjoyment and extremely fulfilling. I have gone five years over the education retirement age and I am still enjoying everyday.
