Sackville School

Mr Dipak Shukla

Before Sackville

I arrived in this country having lived in both India and Kenya and went onto complete my education here. Having graduated in Chemical Engineering I had a sweet career with Tate and Lyle’s Research and Development Department at Reading University where we had fun developing many new products and collecting patents.

I have since worked developing processes for companies manufacturing  spray dryers and ring dryers which led to some interesting projects and travel including  working with potatoes (for producing alcohol)  in Lithuania and drying biofuels (from seaweed) in Hawaii!

Why I Enjoy my Subject

Returning to education and working with young people is a privilege. I enjoy preparing the practicals and participating with the students whenever I get an opportunity.

Why I Enjoy Sackville

I love all aspects of this school. The ethos, relatively small school and I enjoy being part of the team at Sackville.  The students are so polite, friendly and curious and I’ve had some interesting conversations about their studies and aspirations.

When I’m Not at Sackville

I enjoy playing badminton – especially with Staff Badminton Club, cycling, travelling to unusual places and music. Being able to spend more time with my family is also a bonus as I both live and work in Hildenborough!
