Library
The Library is located at the heart of the school and is a hub at break and lunchtimes for students wishing to study or read for pleasure. Book stocks are constantly updated providing for a wide range of interests and abilities and include audio books, quick reads and graphic novels. Newspapers and magazines provide additional reading matter and are complemented by a suite of laptop computers with internet access.
The library plays an active role in promoting literacy by organising events throughout the year. Regular book fairs are held and a highlight is the annual Book Week which sees visits from high profile authors and various literary related activities. Avid readers are catered for with the opportunity to participate in national and regional reading schemes: a group of students across all year groups thoroughly enjoy joining with students from schools across West Kent to choose their favourite reads. This year we participated in The Times Newspaper's first national Spelling Bee reaching the semi finals of the contest.

Open throughout the day, the library is used by teachers for classes to research projects and students in Key Stage 3 have a timetabled reading lesson each week. Our full time Librarian supports and guides in the use of the resources ably supported by a team of enthusiastic student librarians at break times.
