Posted on 25 August 2016

Year 11 are celebrating an outstanding set of GCSE results.  Last year we were ranked as one of the top mixed ability schools in Kent and this year’s results have seen a fantastic 10% increase in the number of students achieving A*-C  in 5 or more subjects including English and Maths to 81%, which is 14% above the National rate.  Indeed 90% of students achieved C or above in both Maths and English Literature and 74% achieved the benchmark in English Language.

Particular congratulations go to Tilly Buehrlen with 10 A*-B passes and William De-Warrenne Waller and Alistair White who achieved 8 and 7 A*-B passes apiece respectively.

Mr Hewitt, commented, “These results are fabulous and demonstrate that our pupils achieve outstanding results in an ever strengthening academic environment. They also follow hot on the heels of a great set of A- level results last week.  As a wide ability school we continue to demonstrate that the combination of quality teaching within a supportive community combined with hard work enables students of all abilities to aim high and reach their goals.  I would like to congratulate each and every student as they celebrate with their families and we look forward to welcoming them in our Sixth Form for the next exciting stage in their education.”
