Celebrating Sporting Success

Sackville got off to a flying start in the first athletics meeting of the season.  Students competed in the ISA Regional Championships and came away with a haul of three Gold medals as well as other placings.  Year 7 student, Nathan, triumphed in the High Jump and Freddie in Year 9 won the Discus and Shot Putt and is obviously destined to emulate brother Henry who became ISA 400m National Champion last year.  These students will now go on to represent Sackville at the National Championships in Birmingham.

Last term saw our Girls’ Volleyball team take the Kent League for the third consecutive year and the Boys’ teams finished in 3rd and 4th place in their league.  We hosted our annual Invitational Volleyball competition recently which saw the Girls team establish their supremacy by winning the cup whilst both the U15 and U13 Boys finished 3rd in their respective categories.

Not to be outdone a team of staff once again ran in the annual Hildenborough Road Races with everyone successfully completing the 5 mile course without incident.  This year the runners were taking part to raise money for Dame Kelly Holmes’ London Marathon appeal in aid of five local charities.
