GCSE Art & Design
Studying Art and Design at GCSE level gives students the freedom to express their ideas, opinions and feelings in creative ways using a wide range of media and processes. We currently offer two Art and Design courses, Fine Art and Textile Design. Fine Art students can create work using drawing media, painting, print-making, sculpture and animation. The Textile Design course involves creating work using a range of natural and synthetic fabric materials focusing particularly on colour, pattern and texture. With a qualification in GCSE Fine Art or Textile Design, students can further their studies with advanced level courses in Fine Art or Photography. This could lead to a career in one of the many areas of the creative industries. Students have the opportunity to visit the Royal Academy of Art, Tate Modern and National gallery as part of the course and overseas trips are also available.
