Class Sizes

Sackville School Class Sizes:

Although we have a declared maximum of 18 in a class, we do like to keep the sizes below that.  This helps our teachers to deliver the individual and differentiated learning which is such a vital part of our programme.

• Year 7 - Max 13 (Average 10)
• Year 8 - Max 12 (Average 11)
• Year 9 - Max 15 (Average 12)
• Year 10 - Max 18 (Average 13)*
• Year 11 - Max 15 (Average 12)
• Year 12 - Max 9 (Average 5)
• Year 13 - Max 6 (Average 4)

*Note that in Year 10 our top Maths set is 18 but the other two sets are 6 and 3, this is dictated by the ability of students. 

Other than Maths the maximum Year 10 class size is 14.
