Mrs Annie De'ath
Before Sackville
I went to Tonbridge Grammar School and have A'Levels in Maths, History, Latin and Psychology. I trained as a Stage Manager in theatre and went on to work in Theatre, TV and then Film Production. I have also been a Personal Assistant to various people in the entertainment industry and to some CEO's of creative companies. Because of this, many of my previous jobs have been in a "support" role so, after having children, such a role in the educational field was going to work best. After doing relevant courses and working in some local primary and secondary schools, I feel very much at home at Sackville and particularly enjoy working at the secondary school level because it’s more academic and I therefore find it more interesting.
Why I enjoy my subject
I thoroughly enjoy being part of the Learning Support Department and I work with pupils of all ages in many different subjects. If I can make a pupil understand something they didn't understand before and generally help them along, in whatever subject it is, then I've done my job and that's what it's all about.
Why I enjoy Sackville
Well, it's the friendly atmosphere, the staff, the setting and the students of course!
My favourite Lesson
I can't possibly have a favourite lesson - that would be way too biased!
Other Roles
I help to proof-read the school website on an ongoing basis where necessary.
Passions
After my children, I love skiing, musical theatre, walking and generally trying to keep fit and healthy. Scuba diving and paragliding are the two best things I have ever done.
