Sackville School admissions made easy
When it comes to school admissions, we try to keep the process as simple as possible; however, we need to establish that Sackville is the right school for your child so have the following admissions processes.
Our three main points of entry are Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12, although we welcome pupils at any stage in their education, and at any point in the year, providing we have a space and we are confident that we can accommodate their needs within our curriculum. Applicants will sit entry assessments in Maths, English and Science and have an interview with the Headmaster. We will also take up references from the applicant's previous school. As pupils apply to us from a wide range of both Independent and State schools we need to determine whether they will be able to access our main stream curriculum and also to place them in the appropriate ability set.
Year 7 school admissions
We hold an Assessment Day on the first Saturday in November for entry in the following September. We are able to accept late applications providing our roll is not full.
Year 9 school admissions
Pupils who join in Year 9 from Prep Schools do so via the Common Entrance Examination, but we also ask that they sit our own assessment prior to entry. We welcome pupils from a variety of Prep schools in this area including: St Michaels, Hilden Grange, Hilden Oaks, Solefield School, The New Beacon, Sevenoaks Prep, Hazelwood School, Yardley Court, Derwent Lodge, Fosse Bank and Bickley Park.
Year 12 school admissions
Pre-qualification requirements are: a minimum of five Grade 4 or above GCSE passes and at least a Grade 5 in the selected A-level subjects. For Science subjects we recommend a Grade 6 and for Maths and Foreign Languages we look for a Grade 7 at GCSE level. Students must pass our interview process prior to acceptance.
